Heather is a WRoCAH funded PhD Candidate at the University of Sheffield, her research focuses on mothering. She works within the English Department. She has a MA in English Literature and Creative Writing and a BA (Hons) in Sociology. In 2024 Heather founded Twisted Ink, an online literary journal, where she leads a small team of editors. Twisted Ink regularly interviews authors, reviews novels and poetry collections, and publishes poetry, prose, artwork and experimental work.

Heather grew up in Doncaster, South Yorkshire and has previously worked in retail, at a call centre, as a dog walker and in a pub. She has also gained editorial experience at a small press, at Sheffield University, and through her work at Twisted Ink. She is open to editing other writers’ work.
